Mr. Osborn has been with Brassel Baldwin Kagan & May since August 2006, following several years with Miles & Stockridge, P.C. in Baltimore. Mr. Osborn retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2000, after 20 years of duty as a Judge Advocate. While in the Marines, Mr. Osborn prosecuted, defended, or presided over more than 800 trials, as well as hundreds of administrative hearings. His military experience also included tours of duty as command advisor, hospital advisor, legal assistance officer, and as Deputy Director, Appellate Defense Division, Washington, D.C. He has written appellate briefs and argued cases before the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Mr. Osborn's practice is devoted exclusively to litigation. He specializes in the areas of wrongful death, toxic tort defense, products liability, negligence, personal injury, business litigation, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes, mediation, and arbitration. He actively participates in the Maryland Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, where he assists litigants in solving their differences outside the courtroom. Mr. Osborn is a Colonel in the Maryland Defense Force, an all-volunteer branch of the Maryland Military Department. Maryland Defense Force counsel provide free assistance to Maryland Army and Air Guard members and their families on a wide range of legal problems. Mr. Osborn is responsible for assignment, training, and supervision of Maryland Defense Force volunteer lawyers throughout the State. He remains actively involved in matters pertaining to military men and women, and veterans. Mr. Osborn is a 1977 graduate of Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He is a 1980 graduate, cum laude, of Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was an editor of the law review and worked for the Attorney General, State of Washington. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and Illinois, and is a member of the bar associations of both states. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Federal District Court for the District of Maryland, and all military appellate courts. Mr. Osborn is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Military Officers Association. |
